To extend SAP MDG Business Partner custom fields, first maintain the BP data model in MDGIMG, then add the attribute in entity type BP_CENTRL, activate the model, and regenerate the generated BP structures if the field was added or changed later. After that, extend the SMT mappings so the field is copied between MDG staging and the Business Partner API/backend structures.
Process flow
- Run `MDGIMG`.
- Go to General Settings → Data Modeling → Edit Data Model.
- Select data model `BP`.
- Open Entity Types and select `BP_CENTRL`.
- Choose Attributes → New Entries.
- Add the new field, for example `ZZLOB` or `ZZSTAGE`, using the backend data element.
- Save and activate the data model.
- Run `SE38` and execute `
