How do I implement custom fields for an existing MDG-F 0G Cost Center UIBB without creating a new entity or new table?
Create the DDIC field first, generate the 0G data-model structures, then enhance the existing Cost Center UIBB through a separate enhancement layer and add the custom fields into a new group or existing group on the form schema.

To add custom fields to an existing MDG-F 0G Cost Center UIBB, first create the DDIC objects in SE11, then generate the model-specific structures in MDGIMG, and finally enhance the existing standard UIBB through a separate enhancement layer. After that, place the fields in the form schema, usually under a dedicated group such as Additional Fields, and adjust the layout grid and field attributes.
Process flow
- Create domain `ZZBUNIT` in `SE11` with data type `CHAR` and length `10`.
- Create data element `ZZBUSUNIT` in `SE11` and assign it to domain `ZZBUNIT`.
- Maintain field labels and optional documentation for the data element.
- Open `MDGIMG` and generate the data model-specific structures for model `0G`.
- Activate the generated structures for the relevant entity, for example `CI_MDG_S_0G_CCTR`.
- Open the existing standard UIBB and choose `Other Functions -> Enhance`.
- Create an enhancement layer such as `ZMDG_ENH_CCTR_CUST` with description `Cost Center Custom Fields`.
- Optionally add a new group named `Additional Fields`. Nested fields can be organized under it.
SE11ABAP Dictionary -> Domain / Data Element
Create the domain `ZZBUNIT` and data element `ZZBUSUNIT` for the custom field example.
MDGIMGGeneral Settings -> Data Modeling -> Generate Data Model-Specific Structures
Generate and activate the 0G model-specific structures for the enhanced entity, for example `CCTR`.
