How do I add custom fields to an existing SAP MDG Finance 0G entity and show them on the existing UIBB?
To add custom fields in SAP MDG Finance 0G, create the DDIC objects in SE11, enhance the target entity in MDGIMG, generate the data model-specific structures, and then add the fields to the existing UIBB configuration such as MDGF_0G_CCTR.
To add custom fields in SAP MDG Finance 0G, create the DDIC objects in SE11, enhance the target entity in MDGIMG, generate the data model-specific structures, and then add the fields to the existing UIBB configuration such as MDGF_0G_CCTR.
SAP MDG Finance 0G custom fields are added in three layers: ABAP Dictionary, data model, and UI. For the example from the guide, you create `ZZBUNIT` and `ZZBUSUNIT` in SE11, add `ZZBUSUNIT` and `ZZEMAIL` to entity `CCTR` in data model `0G` via MDGIMG, generate the data model-specific structures, and then enhance the existing UIBB `MDGF_0G_CCTR` to display the fields on the Cost Center screen.
Process flow
- Create domain ZZBUNIT in SE11.
- Create data element ZZBUSUNIT in SE11 and assign it to ZZBUNIT.
- Open MDGIMG and navigate to General Settings -> Data Modeling -> Edit Data Model.
- Select data model 0G and add ZZBUSUNIT / SMTP_ADDR to entity CCTR attributes.
- Save and activate the data model; adjust linked change requests if prompted.
- Generate data model-specific structures via General Settings -> Data Modeling -> Generate Data Model-Specific Structures.
- Open the existing UIBB configuration for MDGF_0G_CCTR.
- Create an enhancement and optionally add a group named Additional Fields. Add ZZBUSUNIT and ZZEMAIL to the group and adjust the layout, using FPM_REFRESH for onEnter.
