Why is the Source Code Editor button missing in SE24 for a custom ABAP class?

In SE24, the Source Code Editor is usually missing because the class’s Object Directory Entry has an Original System different from the current development system. Check the class in Goto → Object Directory Entry, and if the current system is the real development system, correct the Original System via SE03 → Transport Organizer Tools → Change Object Directory Entries.

In SE24, custom classes can be edited in the normal Form-Based Editor or in the Source Code-Based Editor. If the source-code button is missing, first check Goto → Object Directory Entry and verify the Original System. When the class belongs to a different original system, SAP may suppress the source editor in the current system.

  2. Go to Object Directory Entry.
