How can I enhance the SAP MDG Change Request UIBB with a custom field such as Requesting Business Area?
Enhance the Change Request UIBB by storing the custom field outside the MDG master-data model in a Z-table, exposing it through a custom GenIL dependent object and Form UIBB, and wiring it into the Change Request General Data tab with a GenIL relation and FPM wire schema.
Enhance the Change Request UIBB by storing the custom field outside the MDG master-data model in a Z-table, exposing it through a custom GenIL dependent object and Form UIBB, and wiring it into the Change Request General Data tab with a GenIL relation and FPM wire schema.
To enhance the SAP MDG Change Request UIBB with a custom field, keep the field outside the governed master-data model, store it in a Z-table with the Change Request ID, expose it via a GenIL dependent object, and display it on the General Data tab using a copied Form UIBB configuration. In the example guide, the field is Requesting Business Area, based on GSBER with value help from TGSB and TGSBT.
Process flow
- Create DDIC structure ZCR_BUSINESS_AREA with BUS_AREA typed GSBER.
- Create transparent table ZUSMD_CR_BUSAREA with MANDT, CREQUEST, and BUS_AREA.
- Create enhanced root handler ZCL_USMD_CR_GIL_ROOT_ENHANCED inheriting from CL_USMD_CR_GIL_ROOT.
- Create dependent-object handler ZCL_CR_GIL_REQ_BUS_AREA inheriting from CL_GENIL_NODE_HANDLER_TX.
- Create feeder class ZCL_USMD_CR_GUIBB_REQ_BUS_AREA inheriting from CL_GUIBB_BOL_FORM.
- Enhance GenIL component CR in GENIL_MODEL_BROWSER and create ZMDG_CR_ADDITIONAL_FIELDS.
- Assign ZCL_USMD_CR_GIL_ROOT_ENHANCED to CR_Root.
- Create dependent object ZCR_REQ_BUSINESS_AREA with key structure BSS_CRIL_ROOT_KEY and attribute structure ZCR_BUSINESS_AREA at root object CR_Root, handled by ZCL_CR_GIL_REQ_BUS_AREA; create relation ZCR_ReqBusAreaRel as Aggregation with 1
