How do I configure a predefined custom field in SAP MDG cloud edition?
Use the predefined custom-field extensibility in SAP Master Data Governance, cloud edition to create a Business Partner field without custom programming. In the guide’s example, the field is Sales Category on BUT000, with code list values Normal, Critical, and Internal.
Use the predefined custom-field extensibility in SAP Master Data Governance, cloud edition to create a Business Partner field without custom programming. In the guide’s example, the field is Sales Category on BUT000, with code list values Normal, Critical, and Internal.
Use SAP Master Data Governance, cloud edition on SAP Business Technology Platform and the app Configure Predefined Custom Fields to create the field. The feature is code-free, not available in the trial version, and supports a maximum of 10 custom fields. In the example, Sales Category is created for Business Partner general data (BUT000) with code list values Normal, Critical, and Internal.
Process flow
- Open Configure Predefined Custom Fields in the SAP Fiori launchpad.
- Choose Create to start the wizard.
- Select the technical type and define the field length.
- Enter the label and choose Semantic Type = Code List.
- Maintain the code list values Normal, Critical, and Internal.
- Choose Next Step, review the setup, and select Create and Publish.
- Verify that the services are Enabled and publish them if needed.
- Test the field in Manage Business Partner - Central Governance using Adapt Filters and result-list settings if required. If needed, use Adapt UI to add the field to a UI group in Central Governance. For Consolidation, add the field in the

Create and publish the predefined Business Partner custom field. This is the mandatory first step.

Add the predefined custom field to filters and evaluation result tables in DQM.
Validation Rules-Business Partners
Create and activate the validation rule that uses the custom field when the business requirement needs conditional checks.
SAP S/4HANA Custom Fields app → Business Context: Master Data: Business Partner (BP_CUSTVEND1)
Create the corresponding S/4HANA field for SOAP replication and map it with XML Namespace http://sap.com/xi/MDC/Global2.
