How to develop custom objects in SAP MDG Cloud-Ready Mode?
Start by creating the OTC in MDGIV_OTC_BS via SM30, then build the custom model class, enumeration class, and MDC model customizing in sequence before generating artifacts and enabling RAP/process integration.
Start by creating the OTC in MDGIV_OTC_BS via SM30, then build the custom model class, enumeration class, and MDC model customizing in sequence before generating artifacts and enabling RAP/process integration.
In SAP MDG Cloud-Ready Mode, custom-object development follows a fixed sequence: first maintain the Object Type Code (OTC) in MDGIV_OTC_BS using SM30, then create the OTC-specific model class ZCL_MDC_MODEL_<OTC> and the enumeration class ZCC_MDC_<OTC>. After that, maintain the MDC model customizing in MDCMODEL, define the table and join relationships, and generate the required model and DQ artifacts for downstream RAP and process integration.
Process flow
- Maintain the OTC in MDGIV_OTC_BS via SM30.
- Create ZCL_MDC_MODEL_<OTC> on superclass CL_MDC_MODEL.
- Add IF_MDC_MODEL as a Global Friend and set constructor values.
- Create ZCC_MDC_<OTC> on CC_MDC_ENUMERATION_COMMON and implement IF_MDC_ENUMERATING.
- Maintain MDCMODEL customizing for table names, joins, and join fields.
- Generate MDC and DQ artifacts and activate the results.
- Activate the RAP switch and configure the adapter.
- Enable the OTC for the required process goal and process template.
SM30Maintain table MDGIV_OTC_BS
Create the Object Type Code (OTC) entry for the custom MDG object.
MDG MDC model customizing
Maintain the MDC model entry, active/persistence table names, joins, and join fields.
