How do I extend SAP MDG HANA-Based Analytics with object counters?
This guide shows how to extend SAP MDG HANA-Based Analytics with object counters for Change Requests: first generate the BOTC-specific scenario, then enhance the generated query view in SAP HANA Studio with a total-objects counter and an average-objects measure.
This guide shows how to extend SAP MDG HANA-Based Analytics with object counters for Change Requests: first generate the BOTC-specific scenario, then enhance the generated query view in SAP HANA Studio with a total-objects counter and an average-objects measure.
Use this procedure to extend SAP MDG HANA-Based Analytics with counters/measures for objects contained in Change Requests. The guide applies from MDG 7.0 SP05 and states it is only available in ECC. The two main additions are a total number of objects in Change Requests and an average number of objects within a Change Request.
Process flow
- Ensure SAP MDG HANA-Based Analytics is already configured and running.
- Identify the target Business Object Type Code (BOTC).
- Run `MDG_ANA_HDB_GEN_REPO_CONTENT` to generate the BOTC-specific scenario.
- Locate the generated query view that contains the BOTC in its name.
- Open the query view in SAP HANA Studio.
- Select the Aggregation node.
- Create a new counter for total objects in Change Requests.
- Configure the counter as `TotalObjectsInChgReqs` with `COUNT_DINSTINCT`.
Generate the BOTC-specific HANA-Based Analytics scenario before enhancing the query view
