How do I configure MDG Change Request Analytics using master data attributes?
From SAP S/4HANA 2020, MDG Change Request Analytics by master data attributes lets you analyze open and completed change requests by master data fields such as Product, Business Partner, or G/L Account. The setup starts with generating the basic CDS views in MDGIMG, then configuring the analytics CDS view, transporting it, regenerating it in each system, and finally exposing it through Smart Business/Fiori or SAP Analytics Cloud.

Process flow
- Start transaction
MDGIMG. - Navigate to Process Analytics → Generate Basic CDS Views for Process Analytics.
- Select the required MDG data model and choose Generate.
- Wait for generation to complete and review Details if needed.
- Open Generate CDS Views for Process Analytics.
- Create the analytics CDS configuration with name, data model, and main entity type.
- Enter the local package for the generated CDS objects.
- Open Field Selection and choose the master data attributes needed for drilldown, for example Product, Business Partner, or G/L Account.`,`Keep the view small for performance: 1 or 2 entity types and fewer than 10 attributes where possible.`
