How do I combine MDG Change Request analytics with workflow step details in one app?
Use Change Request Analytics by Master Data Attributes for CR-level analysis, combine it with Work Items Analytics for workflow-step detail, and expose the result through a custom CDS cube/query and Smart Business report.
Use Change Request Analytics by Master Data Attributes for CR-level analysis, combine it with Work Items Analytics for workflow-step detail, and expose the result through a custom CDS cube/query and Smart Business report.
You use two standard analytics capabilities together: Change Request Analytics by Master Data Attributes and Work Items Analytics for Change Requests. First, generate the master-data analytics CDS view in ADT, identify the generated `CUB` view, then build a custom cube such as `ZBP_CUST_OBJ_WF_CUB` that joins it with `I_MDGovChgReqWrkflwTskCube` on `MDGovChangeRequest`.
The query is then published with `@Analytics.query: true` and `@OData.publish: true`, and the end result is a Smart Business Generic Drill-down report where users can start from CR-level information and drill into workflow steps.
Process flow
- Use ABAP Development Tools to create the CDS views.
- Configure and generate the Change Request analytics CDS for the needed master-data attributes.
- Review the generated objects and identify the `CUB` view.
- Reuse `I_MDGovChgReqWrkflwTskCube` as the workflow source.
- Create the combined cube `ZBP_CUST_OBJ_WF_CUB` with `@Analytics.dataCategory: #CUBE`.
- Define `P_MDGovDataModel` and `P_MDGovChgReqWrkflwScen`.
- Join the generated master-data cube and workflow cube on `MDGovChangeRequest`.
- Expose the required CR and workflow measures with the shown aggregation pattern in the cube definition and/or query design as needed by your report design.
